The hackers are back at it again luring victims with too good to be true offers for medication. Hackers are sending phishing emails promoting weight loss medications like Ozempic or similar GLP-1 drugs. The emails include links to “take a quiz” or “see if you are eligible”. Additionally, these fake emails may offer discounts or coupons for weight loss drugs. Never respond to these emails if you receive them. These are phishing emails designed to spread malware and steal your sensitive information.

Real pharmaceutical companies generally do not participate in mass marketing email campaigns. Instead, they pay billions of dollars to run ads on TV, in magazines and they partner with physicians to distribute samples. Immediately delete unsolicited offers from senders posing as a pharmacy or drug company.

Do not provide sensitive health information online if you receive an email asking you to participate in an online quiz or survey. Your health information is private, you do not want cybercriminals abusing your personal data.

Any time you receive a suspicious email, just delete it. Do not click on links within an unsolicited email. Use the “Report Phishing” feature that is built into your email software, and block the sender.
